Inspiration from Hazel

As I walked my cat, I passed a Hazel Tree and noticed how the catkins were hanging all over in groups of 2 and 3.

I touched the soft, flexible bud and continued on our walk.

As I passed the tree again, I touched the catkins one more time and considered plucking one to carry with me on the rest of the walk. I decided not to disturb it and continued on, following my cat throughout the neighborhood.

We ended up in the far corner of the back yard. As we turned to head toward the house, I looked down and on the grass was a group of 3 hazel catkins with no tree nearby. I picked up the small bundle and wondered how it got there and what messages it had for me. The messages that came to mind were:

  • Be flexible and bendable
  • Be soft yet strong and resilient
  • Learn to withstand the elements

I read about the Hazel tree and now I understand how it is the tree of wisdom, ancient knowledge, inspiration, teaching, communication, learning, and healing.

I am on that path and resonate deeply.
